MC Aug/14 - Quill - What is a Weed HB

I made a bunch of these cone shapes at my last quilling session while the other ladies were making wheat sheafs the long way... When they were done I reminded them of the quilling gadget they purchased from me a while back that makes making wheat real easy BIG GRIN... But it's always good to know more than one way to make something.

Anyway while that quilling gadget I designed was brought up, I reminded them of the other quilling gadget I made that makes fern type leaves (like in this card) or large petals or... So a couple of the ladies ordered them.

I side folded my white card (4.25"w x 5.5"h). Stamped the lace background (Harmonie - not available anymore - sorry) using Versafine Toffee and embossing with pearlescent embossing powder.

Die cut the scalloped oval (Spellbinders from an aqua toned cardstock, then the oval (Spellbinders) from white Ruche cardstock. Adhered the layers together then onto the card front. Adhered my quilled elements.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) onto white cardstock using Versafine Black onyx. Cut the quote apart, rounded the corners and sponged with a dirty blue Distress sponge.

On the inside stamped the 2 sentiments (Quietfire Design) using the black, then created a mask from some post it note and stamped the leaf sprigs (Local King Rubber "Hummingbird" set)

Used Prisma colored pencils to color in the letters and the leaves. Sponged around the edges with the dirty blue sponge.

I am LOVING this! I just got a new quilling tool in the hopes that I would actually use some of the quilling strips I've been hoarding for years. The card is so pretty and detailed! Thanks for joining us at Crafty Creations! Hope to see you again soon. --Lisa, DT
