ECS Env Exchange - May 2025 - Donna Bereska

I used a piece of Edge Mixed Media heavy paper for both the env and card trying out different powders to create her name done in Lisa Engelbrechts funky lettering style. For the envelope I used Bister powders (Yellow, Red and Blue), a 3.0 Parallel pen dipped in water and when dry, shadowed with a Juice Up pen. Adhered the artwork to a plain envelope and added a geli print border.

For the card (7"w x 5"h) I used Brusho Powders (yellow , red & ost Blue) and shadowed with a Caran d'Ache B pencil and paper stump. Mounted on a yellow cardstock card base.

Env created from Canson Mixed Media paper, funky lettered with an Automatic Pen (from Betty Locke) using a lot of water then spraying with Brusho powder Ost Red, dropping in a touch of walnut crystals and the Neuberg Ebel gold powder. Let dry then shadowed with a gold gel pen.

The card was created for a Scribbled Lives challenge (Cut & Paste) funky letters cut from brown craft cardstock and doodled with a white gel pen.

Scribbled Lives - Wk 43 - Same Quote - Apparently

On Canson Mixed Media paper penned my large letters in my Uncial style using I think a pen I got from Betty Locke loaded with a lot of water, sprayed Brusho Ost Red powder into the water, then sprinkled a bit of walnut crystals and then a bit of Neuberg Ebel gold powder (hard to see the gold in the image - sigh). When dry shadowed with a gold Unibal gel pen. Rest of quote written with a Juice up pen in Blue Rider Typeface.

Scribbled Lives 2024 - Wk 5 - Universe - Albert Einstein

On Canson Mixed Media paper sprinkled Brush powders (yellow, red & Ost blue). Used a 6.0 Parallel pen for the large word and 3.0 for the smaller letters. Shadowed the large word with a light blue Juice Up pen.

I love reading and am going through an Amish series by Beth Wiseman and came across this quote in the book. I thought what a nice saying and so true.

On Canson Mixed media sprinkled Brusho powders (Yellow, Scarlet and Ost Blue). Large word with a 6.0 Parallel pen and smaller text with 3.0pen. Shadowed with a Caran d'Ache B pencil and paper stump.

On Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media paper drew out the oriental word, painted with Pental red color brush and outlined with Signo Unibal gold gel pen.
Note: Oriental symbol was enlarged from a Canadian postage stamp from a few years back...
Sprinkled Brusho powders (red & yellow) onto paper and text written with a 6.0 Parallel pen and water. Graphite shadowing.

On Canson Mixed Media paper, sprinkling with Brusho powders (Yellow, Brilliant Red, Ost Blue) and using an empty 6.0Parallel Pen dipped in water, wrote out the main words. With a medium tip calligraphy brush pen wrote out the balance of the text.

Another batch of letters inspired by das.frollein.tina. I used Brusho powders dropped into a water logged letters on Canson Pro Marker paper and then a Sharpie pen for the shadow.

Celtic - Letters B & C

Continuing with creating my Celtic alphabet for groups challenge... Here is B & C. Both done on Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media paper

"B": Size: 4"w x 5"h - Fine Tip Sharpie pen, Bister & Brusho w/c powders sprinkled onto a wet area (I did it in sections...). I used a Zig Clean Color to paint the negative areas. Added some graphite shading. 

 

"C": Size: 4"w x 4.5"h - Fine Tip Sharpie pen, Brusho w/c powders sprinkled onto a wet area (I did it in sections...). Kuretake Silver Mica ink. I made a slight mistake so increased the thickness of some of the lines...

BVCG November Galleria - Slip Knot Booklet - One Liners

Slip Knot - One Liners

Our Galleria topic for November 2023 is "One Liners"... since one liners don't take up much room... I decided to do a bunch of them and create a booklet.

On Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media pape, sprinkling the paper with Brusho w/c powders in various colors. Used a pointed nib in Fickle style lettering. When all the pages were done I decided to add a bit of flourish details in the open spaces.

The back and front covers were covered with some of my Brusho background on the Fabriano paper, and I wrote the title on the front with a Zig Writer and shadowed with Kuretake "Gold Mica" ink and a pointed nib.

I used a slip knot style for binding using a blue 4ply waxed linen thread.

Circles - Unique Bubble

I was at one of our Guild's play days and several of my friends were doing homework for Tara's class... I said to myself why not...

On Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media paper drew out the circles using a fine point Sharpie pen. Applied water one bubble at a time and sprinkled with Bister or Brusho w/c powders. When dry outlined some of the little white specks in the bubbles with a Juice Up pen, then added some doodling. Wrote out the quote in a basic monoline.

ECS Rachel Yallop - Ruling Pen Class - Day 1

I'm taking a class through ECS with Rachel Yallop - Ruling Pen Class - Day 1

I pulled out a bunch of my ruling pens...  7 of them... I have all the Dreaming Dogs pens but only pulled out my Little Lie pen... The rest were a hand made Cola pen from a previous class eons ago, Brody, Tim's, Haff 629 (from Thomas Hoyer's Class eons ago), a silver ruling pen for drafting, and my new favorite EZ-A from Alan Ariail.

I sprinkled Bister and Brusho w/c powders on my paper and dipped my pens into water...

I worked on Genoa Bond calligraphy paper and before I knew it I went thru 10 sheets...

Looking forward to class 2...

This week on Scribbled Lives we were asked to create a Birthday card for a celebrity or famous person and use one of their 1 liner quotes... This immediately popped into my head... probably it's a truer sentiment for me... and since I'm taking a Cadell class with Vivian Mungall I thought I'd practice creating one of them...

On Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media paper sprinkling with Brush powders (Yellow, Scarlet and Ost Blue) created the Cadel "F" with a 2.4 Parallel pen dipped in water. The rest of the quote with a 2.5 Elegant Writer in a Blackletter style..

Envelope created on Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media paper using Brusho powders (Lemon, Ost red and  Sea Green) and using my newest pen an EZ-A from Alan Ariail wrote out the name. Outlined with a Juice Up pen.

The card was one I made in a ZOOM class this summer.
