Decorated R - Ruby

Just doodling and this is what evolved...
size: 5.5"w x 3.5"h
Not sure why I picked the letter "R" but went with it... On Canson Pen & Ink paper drew out the letter and colored with Prisma colored pencils.
Text and filigree done with a Zebra G nib and Sumi ink in Shaded Base - Spencerian taught by Nina Tran through OCSFC.

Benoit Furet - Filigree 2 Class

On the weekend I took a 2 day class with Benoit Furet - Filigree 2. I love his style, and I love the look, but I don't think I have the patience... We'll see.

Jan/21 - Filigree - Love U

I recently saw an image from Benoit Furet on Instagram and wanted to do something similar... He does gorgeous filigree calligraphic work. What I saw was a graphic word and roses surrounding it. His roses were more stylized, but mine are easier to create.
