July/19 - Digi Easel Lighthouse Beach Scene - In Summer The Song - Thinking Of You

quietfireDigital.blogspot.ca
My turn on the Quietfire Digital Blog and Suzanne came out with these summery frame scenes... So of course I didn't make a frame but rather a summery easel card.

I'm using a couple rubber quote/sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design ("In Summer the Song..."); ("Thinking Of You small")

And I'm using 3 Silhouette files from Suzanne. Click on images to purchase

MC Sept/14 - Skull - Something Wicked

I won a couple digi's from Aurora Wings in Card Makin Mamas challenge #88, and this skull with flowers is one of them. I love the look of it... so of course I had to make a Halloween card. BIG GRIN.

I printed out the digi in reverse mode on white cardstock then side folded it (5"w x 7"h). Colored with Prisma colored pencils.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "Halloween Wicked Collection") using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Adhered some purple and orange ribbon on top of each other. Used Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and my hard rubber hammer to selectively emboss areas. Sponged over them with a dirty purple sponge. Stamped the faux stitching (Stampers Anonymous Tim's "Spring Sprung" set) using Versafine "Imperial Purple". Used the purple colored pencil to add stripes above the ribbon.

Die cut the buttons from some previously decorated orange cardstock. Tied purple metallic threads through the holes then adhered to card.

MC Apr/14 - Digi Dragonfly - HB

I recently acquired a digi Dragonfly image from Squigglefly which I separated from the background then finally got around to using my print & cut feature on my Cameo... I guess I'll be using that feature quite a bit now... Now all I have to do is figure out how to use it in my SCAL software which is my preferred software.

Also picked up a bunch of new cardstock at warehouse prices from my local craft store, so thought I'd give some of it a use...

Side folded my base to create a 5"w x 7"h card. The decorative piece is something I made a while back on watercolor paper, spraying and misting all kinds of colors and sprinkling sea salt on it and setting it aside to dry naturally. That allows all the stuff to do wonderful things. Layered it on to another of the cardstock (mango) which I trimmed down using my "Perfect Layers" ruler set (they work really well). Adhered to card.

Adhered a piece of glittered ribbon on the left side, then topped it with a die cut - Tim's "Courtyard" from black cardstock which was then inked with Perfect Medium and embossed with a sprinkling of black and some "Midnight Gold Obsidian" then heat set. I cut down the design to only have one strip.

Stamped the word "Dragonfly" (Quietfire Design) using a Versafine "Toffee" pad and embossing with "Queen's Gold" embossing powder then shadow outlining the word with a fine tipped micron pen.

As I mentioned the dragonfly was taken out of the background and then manipulated in the Studio software, printed and cut. I then painted with various colors of glitter using a Quickie Glue pen, some Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter, Distress Glitter & Premium Glitter. The body I adhered brown flocking and added mini black rhinestones for the eyes. Adhered to card with 3D black foam squares.

On the inside stamped the "Happy Birthday" (Quietfire Design) with the toffee and embossed with white embossing powder. Stamped the two sizes of dragonflies (Quietfire Design) with Versafine "Black Onyx" and embossed with Pearl Lustre embossing powder.

I think it turned out as a good guy birthday card.

MC Jan/12 - BFly Cut Out - Valentine's

I was doodling, not know what direction I wanted to go in, and came up with triangular cut out design of this floral/butterfly. Cut it out with my electronic cutter and liked the look and created the card. Definitely a couple of boo-boos along the way... the first being - I cut the excess cardstock away around the triangles, and then said to myself - how was it going to stand. Sheesh - so much for that great idea. ROFL. The second boo boo - I don't like making symmetrical type cards, I always forget to check which orientation it's going in when I stamp something else to it, and sure enough, that's what happened on this card... The "Fluttering by... starts on the wrong side. Luckily this card is going to a really good friend, who either won't notice or will take it in stride.

But I'm using the brand new Quietfire Design Butterfly Circle stamps that just came out. The circle one under the flaps and the quote on the inside.  Love them

Anyway, to see more details and descriptions, just click on card image and enjoy.

PS Don't forget to comment on my BLOG HOP Post, and the posts from the other designers to win a bunch of rubber stamps.

Jan/12 - Bugaboo Digis - Let Them Eat Cake

I was asked to be a guest designer on Quirky Crafts blog challenge and to use a Bugaboo digi stamp. The theme is "Food Glorious Food". As it turned out I got two digi's. I wasn't that intrigued by the first image, so got one that was more "me". The funny thing is, when I printed the images out on my white card, I really liked both of them, they were clean looking, so hence I made two cards - Big Grin.

The first image I got was the chick holding the cake, and while I was percolating what to do with her, I decided to go "French" and use Quietfire Designs French phrases, Flourished Eiffel Tower & the quote stamp from the Let them Eat Cake set. I paired it  up with a new stamp from Old Island Rubber stamps, the Cafe chair and table (it has two chairs, but I left one off). Everything was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx. I only colored the digi with colored pencils so it would stand out. Added teardrop green rhinestone earrings and green Stickles on the shoes (she definitely needed the glitz BIG GRIN) I liked the clean and fresh look of the white. I added just a touch of edging with Distress my dirty red sponger.

The second image is one I chose and love the quirkiness of the chick... Again I kept the card simple, only coloring the digi with colored pencils and adding a piece of aluminum tape for the stove outline. Used a couple sizes of an alphabet stamp set (Just Rite "Brayton") to stamp the "Let's Celebrate" along the side. The blurb is part of the digi set and then I punched it out with a jumbo Fiskars punch, sponging some Dusty Concord around the edges.

And it also fits for these challenges:

MC Oct/11 - Shelly's Digi - Halloween

I got a free download digi image from Shelly's Images blog of the autumn fence scene. I did alter it slightly by printing it in reverse and adding the pumpkins. Printed it out on white cardstock and painted it with Daniel Smith watercolors.
All stamped images except for the fir trees (Stampscapes) and the word Halloween (Quietire Design latest Halloween stamp sheet) are from Inkadinkado. Repeatedly stamped the fir trees in the background with Versafine Black Onyx (masking the fence). Then stamped the Happy Haunting grave yard scene also with the black. Drew in a spider web with a micron pen, then went over it with a Quickie Glue pen and sprinkled Ritz micro fine glitter "Stardust". Stamped the spider. Stamped and clear embossed the black cat. Stamped and clear embossed the word.

MC Apr - Joy Fold - Song of Solomon

This is another interesting card fold that is the challenge at No Time to Stamp, written by Beate on Split Coast Stampers. My size is different.
I also love all kinds of colors so picking a favorite is almost impossible. So I let the next challenge choose for me and that was the one with Crushed Curry as one of the colors in Stampin with Stacey.

This card is also for Created By Hand with a theme of Memorial Day, so I figured someone could use an angel to lift their spirits up.

If you've been reading my blog lately, you'll know I love the Recollections "Spice Market" cardstock pack and used the yellow from there. And with those two elements, the rest fell into place.

I also used a rubber stamp quote from
Quietfire Design that I don't think I've used before, but since this was a card that was working it's way toward a sympathy card, I thought it was appropriate.

It covers these challenges:
No Time to Stamp #136 A Joy Fold card

3 challenges

I've managed to make a card that covers 3 challenges... Digi Ink image (from Stitchy Stamps by Twitchy) with Xmas song word/words, Saturday Work Out recipe challenge of Black, Green & one color from the wrappers of that company's chocolate bars, and Rubber Stamp Chat has a sketch. So I'm pleased. It also uses Quietfire Design Rubber Stamps.

Twitchy - Stitchy Stamps - Cards

I was asked to create a card using a digital stamp from Twitchy (Stitchy Stamps) at Digi Ink. So of course I made two, can't stop at one. I must admit these stamps are not my usual style, but I had fun creating them. Click on either card to see details etc.
