Circle - 6 Trefoils & Celtic Weave - Blue & Pink

After making the larger one which you can see in the previous post  I decided to make one more the size I usually work with (4.5"dia). The image looks kind of oval but it really is a circle...

I resized my previous piece to this smaller size and printed it out then transferred it to my good paper.

On Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media paper using a Fine Tip Sharpie pen for the outline, graphite shading on the weave section. Watercolors on the trefoil knots. Background colored with a black Sharpie

Circle - 6 Trefoil & Circle Weave - Colored

After playing with some of the Celtic patterns from our last handout out Adrienne so generously sent us, I was in a mood to combine it with something else... and boy did this thing take a while. I was having so many problems getting my knots to work in the circle on one that only had 1/4" line spacing. I finally gave up and increased the line space to 1/2". And of course the template I made for my trefoil was a little skewed... I have since created a better template... but c'est la vie. I like the way it turned out so much I created one that's only 4.25"dia which I'll upload tomorrow...

On misc Calligraphy paper using a Sakura Koi watercolor brush pens. white Prisma colored pencil, graphite, Juice Up and Zig marker.

That yellowish color is more a limey green. The outer layer was a darker green I didn't like so went over it with a white colored pencil.

I really like the inner circle weave, weaving thru the knots accented with the graphite shading.

Celtic - Six Triangle Knots - Tulips

So I thought I'd try another variation from Joy's knotwork. I added the smaller knots under the larger ones as well as adding the tulips in the center. I'm really liking this variation. And as I was looking at this I was seeing something else I want to try...
Size: 6"sq.
On Fabriano 1264 mixed media paper using a fine tipped Sharpie pen for the outline, blending 2 colors of watercolors and adding graphite shading. As a final touch added Stickles gold glitter dots.

Celtic Circle - Individual Triangle Knot

I'm taking a 2 day ZOOM class with Joy Daniels "Celtic Knotwork - The Next Step" thru Acorn Arts Classes. Love her style.

On Genoa Bond paper created my circle (6"dia) sections (9 of them). Created one of the sections, traced and cut out a template to create the other 9... didn't space one of them properly so have a larger space between 1 section and a smaller one between another section - c'est la vie... Love the way it turned out.

Used a Zig Writer to outline the design, colored with a Prisma yellow #915 and an aqua #920 and blended with a Lyra Splender Blender. When done I said it need some contrast so added the black with the Zig. Then I wanted some glitz... so added green glitter.

See the individual thought process pic below.
