As last exercise Jurgen created a monoline piece of this quote. There were aspects of it he didn't like so I thought I'd try doing it as well. I'm very pleased with mine. The bottom image is the trial piece on regular calligraphy paper. The image above is the final piece with some 23K gold leaf.

Today our final day with Jurgen Vercaemst we worked with squares and rectangles. Containing the letters within the square and letting the letters expand outside the rectangles.

Snowman Mandala. As mentioned before took a mandala class with the Edmonton Calligraphy Society taught by Sally Towers-Sybllis. This month's challenge with the ECS is "weather", so made the snowman and used some Johnny Mathis lyrics.

I love making triptychs, so for the Xmas ATC exchange I joined, I thought I'd do triptychs and have lots of room to play on... A bit more work but I think worth it BIG GRIN.
