I was eCutting a scallop frame and trying to decide what to do with it... so then I decided to check the themes for some challenges and logging them in my brain... then started creating the card...
One challenge called for something square, another to add a frog, another for lots of blooms and a couple others for dots and/or stripes, then there were buttons, baubles and ribbon...oh yeah and put a friend sentiment on it... Sheesh talk about loaded down... (ps there are a few more challenges on it...)
So as I mentioned eCut the scallop rectangle (it will be available soon from Quietfire Design) to get a square card when folded. Stamped the stripes (Impression Obsession CAC "Random Lines") using Distress pdas ("Mustard Yellow", "Salty Ocean", "Mowed Lawn", & "Ripe Persimmon").
eCut a scalloped square frame, applied Mowed Lawn all over, ran through my machine with Sizzix "Dot Matrix" embossing folder, then hit the high points with the Salty Ocean. Adhered to card.
The drop out piece from the square, I applied the Mustard Yellow all over, spritzed with water and dried, then stamped the
sentiment (
Quietfire Design) using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.
Created a silhouette image of the frog (Local King Rubber "Froggie"), colored my stamp with Distress watercolor markers, misted with water and stamped onto the cut piece, dried and adhered to the edges of the square frame.
Created a silhouette image of the orchid (Flourishes "Orchids"), stamped with Versafine "Smokey Grey", clear embossed and colored with Watercolor pencils and a waterbrush. Cut one of the flowers away from the sprig and adhered to card with 3D foam squares. Adhered the single flower straight to the card.
Die cut a bunch of buttons (Memory Box "Scalloped Buttons") from white Shrink Plastic, colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol pens in linear and floral designs, then heat shrunk. Adhered to card with Golden's Extra Heavy gel medium.
Added greenish round gems in alternate scallops. Punched holes in three of the scallops and tied 3 narrow ribbons through each hole (tones of "pool", "daffodil" & "olive"). added a bead of glue on the backside.
On the inside, eCut a scallop oval frame. Applied the Mustard to the scallop and the Salty Ocean to the oval. Stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design) with the black and clear embossed. Adhered both to inside of card.
eCut a silhouette image of the frog, colored with the Distress markers, misted with water and stamped on the cut out. adhered to card.
