Silver Years Booklet (part 1)

A good friend sent me a bunch of old timer style sayings and I was in a mood to create a booklet with them... This is the 1st signature done. It will be 3 signatures of 2 folios (8 pages each). I wrote the text on an 80# paper gifted to me by another friend and adhered it to some geli plate pieces I made this week done on Columbia Mills end paper.

The booklet will be approx 1/2"thk x 6"w x 4.5"h

Playing - Artist & Feather

Just playing in my journal. I came across this "Artist" word and thought I'd try to replicate it. I have a very hard time with majuscules, and I can't seem to get the fluidness of the flourishes. 

Practice, Practice Practice...

Leslie BD card & Envelope

And since I just took another floral decorated lettering class with Heather Held, thought I'd do the envelope with that technique. Not as delicate as Heather does, but will get there eventually...

Barbara Close Trees Day 3

 

 

I really love doing Birch trees... silhouettes have their uses... doing Bark is challenging but I enjoyed the process. Took more than 6 layers of paint before I got a result I was happy with...

 I have mixed feelings for day 4... On the one hand I want the day to come, on the other hand, that means class will end - sigh!! I really enjoyed this class spread over weeks.
