CBH Challenge Dec 29th "Out with the Old"

Over at Created By Hand there is another theme that is not easy. I guess that's why they call it a challenge. Will be interested to see what everone else creates. BIG GRIN

I've been meaning to do something with one of the shoe quotes from Quietfire Design, and I figured this was the prime time - Out with the Old shoes and in with the new ones. Gotta love shoes. At least I did when I was younger. Still haven't had the will to throw a ton of mine away from 12 years ago. I love the way they look lined up in my closet. Fabulous colors and stuff. These days all I wear are sandals or two pair of leather shoes I bought 10 years ago and keep getting repaired. They are so comfortable.

So anyway, here's what I did with this card.
On a white card I used a piece of crinkled cardstock( very crinkled) and Distress Walnut stain to get a crackle look on the upper portion of the card (can't find my crackle stamp, sheesh!!). Sponged some color on it to give a more blended look. Also sponged some Worn Lipstick on the bottom section of the card around the edges.

Cut out from a magazine or printed out and then cut out several old type shoes. Mounted them to pieces of coordinating cardstock. Then adhered them to the upper portion of the card,
some with foam tape to raise them a bit. Cut out the kinky sandal type shoes (no, I don't wear this type) and adhered them to the bottom of the card. Printed the words "Out with the Old" on a strip of beige cardstock and adhered it to the card, then printed the words "in with the new" on the bottom of the card. Rubber stamped the quote with Versafine "Crimson Red" and clear embossed it. Then added the black border lines. Voila, card is done. Not sure who to give this card to.

Yogi I'm not sure any of those are the perfecat pair of shoes, but it sure is a very creative way to depict the theme. Nice card, I'm sure you'll find someone it just belongs to.
