Day 12 of Tim's tags

Day 12 of Tim's tags: This is another tag I love. That rose is just fabulous, but definitely a labor of love that went into it. Fiddley kind of thing.

So I started out with cutting 3 of the 6 petal layers. I don't have that Sizzix die so I hand cut mine from the Grungepaper. Colored them first with a layer of Delta Craft white acrylic paint, then another coat of White Pearl, then sparyed a bit of Shimmer Mist Peach and rubbed it with my finger so it wasn't so intense. Colored the edges with a sponging tool and Worn Lipstick. Rubbed on a bit of Stickles Rock Candy which you can't see in the pics. Did all the cutting, curling gluing etc. The gluing is what was most problematic. The glossy accents take a while to dry and so even with the paper clips, things wanted to become unglued. But it finally came together.

For the tag I put Worn Lipstick and Antique Linen on the mat, misted it with water and smeared the tag through it. Semi dried it and sprayed a mix of Scattered Straw & Heirloom Gold from a mini mister. Rubber stamped the music sheet (Quietfire Design) with Aged Mahogany on the whole tag. Adhered a piece of exquisite lace along one side, then adhered the rose with Golden's extra heavy gel medium. It didn't want to stick with the Glossy Accents, just too heavy. Then added the applique type lace flower. Cut out some leaves with my Cricut, scored veins in them and sponged some Pine Needles then clear embossed them. Rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) on a separate piece of white cardstock with Versafine Vintage Sepia and clear embossed it. Sponged some Worn lipstick then some Walnut Stain, dried it thoroughly, then touched the edges with the Walnut Stain again and embossed with Queen's Gold. Tied on a beige ribbon.

On Monday evening I'll be uploading a rose made from cardstock which is waaaay easier to make. I also used a Bead roller to curl the edges which made that part real easy as well.
