I just acquired this box of Staples brand Brochure paper double-sided gloss. It's ok, but not what I was expecting. Alcohol inks did not work very well on it. I only tried my drip method, but it just didn't spread. The background for the mermaid was OK, but not as blended as I would have liked. I used Distress stamp pads DTP (Broken China, Spiced Marmalade & Peeled Paint), sprayed with lots of water - and it barely ran. Dried it well. Ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Koi folder from the Asian Bundle. Brayered the high points of the water swirls only with Perfect Medium and embossed with Queen's Gold.
Placed a piece of mauve toned net ribbon on the lower section using Glossy Accents to hold it down. Rubber stamped my mermaid (Faerie Song "Seaside Dreamer" #FS-10SD) with Versafine Black Onyx on another piece of the glossy paper, clear embossed it and cut it out. Colored it with Bic Mark-It pens. Used a Quickie Glue pen and Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter (Celedon) on the tail and (Cool Highlights) on the fins. Rubber stamped the Quote (Quietfire Design) with the black. Mounted it to a dark blue cardstock.

Hi Yogi, I was posting my link for the mermaid postcard and there you were. Your mermaid is so pretty and I like how your background turned out. Love the netting.
