I was productive this morning before heading off to work. Created this 4.25w x 5.5"h card to cover 2 challenges. Inspirational Card Sketch #59 & Diva Coffee Break Designs #170.
I started with creating the green strip from white cardstock, smearing it through some misted Distress Bundled Sage on my silcone mat, scrunched and dried. Then smeared the pad DTP, misted again, and dried. Smeared a Perfect Medium pad over the high points and embossed with Plum Green.
The pink is white tissue paper smeared DTP with Distress Spun Sugar, misted and dried. Then pounced my Victorian Violet misted and dried (it's what left some nice linear lines). Put a good layer of a glue stick on my white card front, adhered the tissue paper, making sure there were lots of wrinkles, ironed between some papers to get a nice flat and well adhered layer. Adhered my green strip.
Die cut my Spellbinder's oval from some previously decorated brownish cardstock, and dry embossed it as well.
Rubber stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Imperial Purple and embossed with Lilac, which gave me a nice whitish color with a hint of pink. Die cut the scalloped oval from some cheapie plain brown cardstock.
Found an image on the net of the coffee beans and printed it out, then cut around the beans and adhered to the card. Voila.

I really like your idea of glueing and ironing the tissue paper to get that flat wrinkled look. Very clever.
