MC July - Green - Every Blade

This card started out with a challenge of something I don't often make - criss cross cards, but I like the way this one turned out. It also is for the Created By Hand challenge which is "Sheltering Tree" or the color "Green". I guess I used both themes this time. You can also find this challenge on the Quietfire Creations Forum Group.

Click on card to see details and descriptions etc. Enjoy

It also uses a rubber stamp quote from Quietfire Design.

And it fits a couple of challenges:
ATS Blog #38 Monochromatic
Deb Neerman cas-tastic Kraft recipe - stamp or print image, embossing, masking
Penny's Challenges #33 use 7 of something (leaves on top)
Dutch Dare #82 Criss Cross card

WoW, this is soooooo cool! I've never made a criss-x card ... but you've inspired me to try! And I love those fall leaves ... a beautiful touch, Yogi!

This is so pretty, and I love the different colors of green that you used. I can't wait to start creating my card.

Just to clarify, you put the Patina Stickles over the dry emboss leaves of the border? I was just thinking last week that I need to find an embossing folder that can be used for bordering and then here you are with a lovely presentation. Thank you.

Hi Linda CCC,
Thanks for your lovely comments.

There are no Stickles used on this card. What I used is embossing powder called Rustique Patina by Judikins. I used a rubber brayer to put a layer of Perfect Medium stamp pad ink on the high points of the dry embossed design after it came out of the folder, then sprinkled the Rustique Patina, cleaned up any areas with a small paint brush and then heat set. Hope this helps
Take care Yogi
