MC Feb/11 Winter Thaw

I love the way this card turned out - not at all the way I had planned. I started by stamping the floral image (Flourishes) onto Classic White cardstock. I usually stamp not close to an edge so I can cut around or die cut or whatever. And as was the case with this card, when I finished coloring with my colored pencils, I wasn't in the mood to die cut it with an oval. Then I remembered a bunch of these emboss plus things I had done a while back. So I pulled one out and lay it on top and really liked the look. I cut around the leaves so they could sit on top of the embossed frame, then adhered the frame to the main white card, trimmed it down. Then stamped the quote (Quietfire Design), minus the title which was Song of Solomon - no room for it. I added a very small punched out butterfly and put on some tincy wincy rhinestones. This will go to a friend that can use a pick me up.
It reminds me of all the snow around and this pop of color coming out of it.

It fits for this challenge:
