get well soon

A good friend of mine is having some minor surgery done... any surgery is never minor in my thoughts. Anyway I thought she could use a little pick me up. She's also a calligrapher so thought I'd do a bit of pointed pen work.

Those 2 large flowers were hand drawn with a pencil and then the pointed pen worked within the lines using Sumi ink. When dry, erased the lines. applied a touch of Pebbles Pearlesent chalks in the centers and on the start of the petals. Rubber stamped the vase (Stampendous "Poppy Bottles) and clear embossed and colored with some blue chalk. Added the stems with a micron pen. Trimmed to size and cut a mask to sponge a white border using Distress Scattered Straw. Used a rubber mallet to emboss the deco border (Cuttlebug "Art Deco" set #2000420), then sponged a touch of Frayed Burlap on the high points. Punched out 2 butterflies (Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly & EK Success Whale of a punch Butterfly). They're both about the same shape and size, so the bottom solid layer I colored with Distress Chipped Sapphire, dried and then applied 2 way glue and Ritz micro fine glitter Blue Teal. The upper butterfly is punched from decorated paper, inked with Perfect medium and embossed with Kaleidescope embossing powder. Added some mini bronze rhinestones to the body.
