MC Aug/11 - Triangles - Kimono HB

Some of you may already know I went to the Taste of Calgary yesterday - delicious..., but while there I went in to the market place, which I only visit about once a year - sigh!!, but I'm so glad I did it this time. I found a gold mine. There's a paper place inside there called Paper Roots and they sell mainly greeting cards and small gifts, but they also sell gift wrapping by the sheet. Now a lot of places do that, but they're usually very expensive. This place had gorgeous metallic and embossed papers (20" x 30" sheets) for $1.95 each. I was drooling. I bought 15 sheets and I probably should have bought one of every one they had... I'll probably go back, maybe drag my friend with me... So this card uses a few of them.

I also had to make something with triangles, because this week's theme over on Created By Hand & Quietfire Creations is either triangles or what's the point..., so I used triangles for the fan. The paper for the fan is some of my new Distress Stains that I got the other day. Loving them. The rose is from a tutorial I just found on line at Stamp Artic , she really does a fabulous job of explaining the steps. It's basically made from 4 pieces of 5 petal flowers. I'll make it again. She didn't recommend using cardstock - which is what I used. It's ok.

Anyway, to see more details and descriptions etc, just click on card image and enjoy.

I'm also using a Quietfire Design stamp (the small flourish)

And it fits for these challenges:
A Spoonfull of Sugar  #162 Happy Birthday (the Kanji characters for birthday)
Die Kreativen Stempel Freunde  #31 Hand made bkgr'd
Incy Wincy Designs  #106 something old (Kanji Stamp 2008), something new (metallic papers from yesterday)
