WOYWW Aug 17th #115

Today I thought I'd give you a glimpse of what's on my desk and what's in front and to the left of my desk - BIG GRIN. And if anyone is wondering why I'm doing that or what that weird title is... it's because every Wednesday, Julia from "Stamping Ground" asks us to show her "what's on your desk Wednesday" - so voila...

I finished a couple cards yesterday and started making the envelopes to mail them. They're for birthdays, so had to cover up most of the envie - sorry. What you see to the left on my desk, encased  in the green, is the pile of postage stamps I've accumulated. Every time a new issue comes out (except for sports...) I pick up at least a package, so I always have a stamp that would match what I'm creating on the envelope.

Also I've finally had a chance to do some calligraphy for the envies and one of the cards. It's a rare occasion I get to do that, I usually just do a quick monoline, or print out from my computer and decorate with rubber. And I've been having fun playing with this style lately.

The desk in the cupboard is usually a catch all - sometimes a real BIG catch all, but today it's pretty tidy. I have a handmade spray booth (not spending $15 on one), my iron that should go back in my sewing room. All the little drawers and boxes are things I only use once in a while and I just pull the drawer or box over to my desk when I need something - brads, eyelets, misc tools, paddle punch stuff (from Sizzix), Blow pens and Magic Markers), glue glitters and misc Pebeo stuff. On the shelf above with the big black box/drawers is misc excess pens, markers, colored pencils, paint brushes. The shelves above that is mostly useless stuff and one day I'll attack it... but at the moment some of my artwork hangs precariously .

Under the desk in the cupboard you can see several more drawer thingies that I roll out when needed. One has my toaster oven on it and in the drawers all the polymer clay, friendly plastic, tools and stuff. There are 4 drawer thingies under there. In the very back ones I have my wood mounted stamps that I use maybe 1 every few months... Give me clear stamps. I have drawers with copper/brass/aluminum sheets, pre-sized card/envelopes etc. The Ikea cupboard on the right has lots of set type containers of colored pencils, markers and things, bottom drawer for Melt Art stuff, sander and sanding blocks etc., and the rest has all the little extras I don't know where to put and who knows what else.

To the right of the cupboard, up high near the ceiling, there are a few cards showing. I have a small shelf running along the whole wall and over that door, that hold cards I've made, mostly things I can't sell because they are specific to a time or occasion, made for a challenge or whatever.

To the left of the cupboard I have several Zyrons that I barely use, my calligraphy stuff and more misc stuff.

Hanging from a long thick wood shower type rod near the ceiling, I have page protectors in both sizes (12 x 12 & 8.5 x 11) storing all kinds of stuff, mostly Oriental or quality decorative papers,or hand decorated papers by me (marble, Paste Paper, hand molded paper etc), some collage stuff, some metal charms I wont use because I use them to make molds.... I like letting my fingers do the walking through them, also if I see it, I'll probably use it.

So that's it for today. Hope you enjoyed the mini tour. Till next week. Have a great and creative day.
