MC Nov/12 - Toy Soldier - Believe

I got this Sizzix toy soldier die recently and just love the whimsical look to it. Fun. Love playing with all the little elements... The card is 5"w x 6.5"h

So I die cut it from white cardstock. The boots, belt and hat were inked with Distress "Walnut Stain" or "Aged Mahogany" and then embossed with the matching Distress embossing powder.

Sponged Antique Linen around the edges of the pants and face. Sponged Fired Brick on the jacket. Colored the epaulettes and horizontal bars with an ocher colored pencil. Kept the gloves and X bar white, although it got some of the red sponging on it...

Cut my Sizzix Tim's "Notebook" embossing folder apart. Taped one side to the center portion of the front of my card, held it up to the light and taped the other part to the back of my card front. Ran it through my embossing machine.

Stamped the Textured Xmas word stamp (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Black Onyx.

Adhered my soldier to the card front. Then took apart the threads from a piece of red fun yarn and adhered them to the hat front like a little tassel with a dab of glue. Then adhered the red rhinestone.

Kept the card extremely simple and love the look. It's clean and uncluttered...

It fits for these challenges:
