MC May/13 - Ron BD - Journey 1000 Miles
It's so hard to make cards for a guy, since flowers and girlie stuff just wouldn't cut it for them...
I got this new stamp from Stampendous "Bicycle Bkgr'd" and stamped it all over some white cardstock. Trimmed it down to the size I needed and sponged Distress "Old Paper" and some "Walnut Stain" on the edges. Layered it on to a brown Ruche cardstock and on to my white 5 x 7" card.
Found an image of a bike and cut with my electronic cutter twice, so I would have an extra tire layer. Adhered wire spokes to the back of the tire then glued down the second tire to encase the wires. Colored the tires with black Sumi ink. Colored the bike parts with a red Distress marker then
wrote in the words "Happy Birthday" & "Put-Put" with white ink and a pointed pen. When dry, put two layers of Glossy Accents on the red areas to give it that sheen of glossy paint.
Embossed the little do-dad that holds all the spokes with silver embossing powder and adhered it to the frame and added the screw type brad.
I'm using a Quietfire Design Quote stamp - actually 1/2 of one... and then added my words under it in my "Fickle" font using a micron pen. Cut out and punched the end with a seal punch. Adhered to card with 3D foam tape.
