MC June/13 - OLW - Love & Laughter

The challenge on the OLW (one layer Wednesday) blog is splats & splatters... And then on another challenge was masking, and another was stripes and all 3 of these came together for my background...

So I taped my card front with painters tape creating the stripes. Dripped and splattered my Dylusions inks ("Zesty Lemon" & "Bubblegum Pink") using a pipette and also running the pipette through the wet inks creating those linear effects.. When dry, removed the tape.

Outlined each line with a black pen. Ran my front through my machine with Tim's "Dot matrix" embossing folder for the top stripe and Cuttlebug "Honeycomb" set for the bottom stripe. Then sponged distress "Mustard Seed" & "Picked Raspberry" and edged the whole card with "Seedless Preserves"

Stamped the sewing line (Tim's "Spring Has Sprung" set) with Versafine "Blue Lagoon" and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder.

Cut a hexagon opening in the card front, outlined it with a purple marker, then transferred the shape to the inside lightly with a pencil. Stamped "Love & Laughter" (Quietfire Design) portion to fit within the hexagon shape, and the balance of the quote outside the shape using Versafine "Imperial Purple" and clear embossing.

Added a narrow purple ribbon to one of the stripes and tied a small bow.

Stamped the house (Old Island) with Versafine "Black Onyx" and colored with Tim's Distress markers and a waterbrush.
