MC Sept/13 - Feathers & Fall - Take Time

click on image to enlarge. Enjoy
Love how this card turned out and its only a single layer...

I cut a rectangle to use as a mask to keep my center white, then stamped the buttons border (Flourishes "Country Charm Borders") repeatedly using various fall colors of chalk stamp pads. Removed my mask.

Stamped the quote minus the words "the season" (Quietfire Design) using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Stamped the word "Fall" using 2 alphabet stamp sets from Hero Arts (CL069 Clear Design & CL385 Happy Letters) using Versafine "Toffee" and embossing with "Stamp n Bond", then applying Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Orange".

Put an inside stitching border at the edge of the button border using a Viva Pearl Pen "Dark Brown". Set that aside to dry while I created the feathers.

Cut the feathers with my electronic cutter from white cardstock. Scored vein lines down the whole feather, then sponged Distress "Pumice", a touch of "Gathered Twigs" and then a really small touch of "Peacock Feathers".

Colored a white "real feather" with Distress Stain "Peacock Feathers" and allowed that to dry. Then tied my 3 feathers together with gold metallic thread and adhered to card. PS the real feather also had some pearls glued to the shaft. Glued down the button ribbon border at the top (love that ribbon...)

Found the yellow button at the bottom in my stash, tied it with a red ric-rac ribbon bow and adhered to card.

As a final touch added some small white half pearls between the buttons on the border and filled several of the buttons with Glossy Accents.

And it fits for these challenges:
Penny Black at All Sorts  Monthly Autumn Colors
Penny's Challenges  #143 use something from a spool (the metallic thread)
Desert Island Crafts  #61 use 3items: Rick St Dennis Image, Create a Scene, Make it Spooky, Favourite Fairy Tale, Fantasy & Mythical Creatures, Monochrome, Show us some Metal (metallic thread), Layer it Up, Ribbon & Pearls, Sparkle & Shine

Another totally delightful card Yogi, lush Autumnal colours and so effective how you have used the matching buttons to reflect the backing.
