MC Feb/14 - Gelli Plate - Follow Your Dreams

I came across another technique using the gelli plate and realized right away I was going to love using it especially for reverse printing... which, sorry this card isn't using ROFL.

But I am using the gelli plate BIG GRIN.

OK I used my small gelli plate and brayered Memento dye inks "Dandelion" all over, then brayered "Teal Zeal" on the right side working towards the center to blend the two colors, but still leaving some pure yellow. Then did the same with "Lilac Posies" on the left side.

Die cut a Spellbinders "Classic Hearts" (medium size) and placed it on the right side of my gelli plate - remember everything will be reversed to what you're seeing. Pressed my card front over the gelli plate and massaged with my fingers to make good contact with all the colors. Lifted my card and voila... I love the softness of the colors.

I then stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) using Versafine "Black Onyx". Then stamped the butterfly (Stampendous "Jumbo Butterfly Trio") with the black. Used a Wink of Stella iridescent brush pen to put some glitz to the wings.

To finish it off I used a Dylusions "Inbetweenies" stitching stamp around the edges using a piece of post it note as a mask.

Beautiful shading! I love the stitch stamp, too. I have an old Hero Arts zigzag stitch stamp and you can hardly tell it from the real thing.

Yogi, I really like the softness you've achieved using the gelli plate, but my favourite thing here is the negative space from the heart, for the sentiment to be stamped. If it goes past the edges, it looks even better, like yours does. Great idea! Thanks- I'll be borrowing for sure. :)
