MC Apr/14 - Quill Coiled Flower - HB

At my last quilling afternoon, one of the gals taught us how to make these flowers - made with tight coils from 1" strips of paper, then a thin floral wire dipped in to whole pile of white glue and then with the glue on the wire twirled in the batch of tight coils and set aside to dry. Fun.

So I finally got around to making a card (4.25"w x 5.5"h) from it. I embossed it with Craft Concepts "Weaving Blocks" embossing folder, then hit high points with Distress "Old Paper" pad.

Adhered the flowers in a bunch onto a small scrap of cardstock with hot glue, then onto my card. Adhered the vase (also supplied by my friend) with hot glue so as to keep the 3D shape.

Die cut some leaves (CC Designs "Leafy Branch") from cardstock colored with Distress greens.

Stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design) and hand cut around it, sponging some Distress brown and edging with a brown marker.

Added the glittered butterfly from one of my previous eCutting sessions.

Click on card image to enlarge. Enjoy

And it fits for these challenges:
Love to Scrap  #28  use 3 or more elements: Dfly, stripes, flowers, circle, a number, gems, pearls, colors yellow, green, blue, pink, orange.
