MC June/14 - Bamboo Text Believe - We Must Be Willing

I must be on a black & white kick... I wanted to make this card because of a friend. We went shopping... at Michael's the other day and she bought a beautiful all in one type stamp of a silhouette tree with text on the side of it. I asked her why she was buying it because I thought that kind of stamp was very limiting. It's the type of stamp I would use a couple of times and then it would become too recognizable and I wouldn't use it anymore. I said why don't you just stamp some text and then add the silhouette image of whatever. But she answered me with "I don't have as many stamps as you...". And that's probably true. And I said "It is a beautiful stamp".  So that's how this card was started.

I created a silhouette mask image of the bamboo sprig (Inkadinkado "Asian By Design" set) on my electronic cutter.

Side folded my white card (4.25"w x 5.5"h). Stamped the bamboo using Versafine Black Onyx. Place my mask over the stamping and then repeatedly stamped the text block (Just Jones "Pieces & Parts" set) using the black. Removed the mask

Stamped the Asian symbol for Believe (Prairie Rubber Stamps) with the black and clear embossed. Shadow outlined the symbol and the bamboo with a Wink of Stella gold pen. Added the golden glittered butterfly from a previous project.

On the inside, stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) with the black and clear embossed. Masked off the fold edge of my card and stamped the bamboo sprig with the black.

Click on either card image to enlarge. Enjoy

And it fits for this challenge:

I found your blog from the Allsorts Challenge, and so glad I did or I would have missed this stunning card.
You've inspired me to get out my oriental stamps and maybe have so play time with them.

Inspired and inspiring! Beautifully graphic in the black and white. Perfect inside sentiment with the image. I particularly like the gold shadow/outline.
