MC June/14 - Quill Copenhagen - Thank you

I came across a quilled flower called "Copenhagan" technique. No idea why it's called that, but I liked the look of it so decided to make a few... and one of the reasons the flowers are not traditional colors is for a few challenges I'm entering...

I top folded my white card (8.5"w x 4"h). Die cut Sizzix Tim's Trellis die to create a stencil from white cardstock. Sponged Distress "Pumice Stone" all over and then hit here and there with "Mustard Seed". Removed the stencil and cut off one strip which I inked with Versafine Black onyx and embossed with Distress "Black Onyx" embossing powder. Heat set and swiped off the misc particles. Adhered to card off set from the design.

Adhered my quilled elements. Die cut the leaves (Die Versaions "Old Oak Leaves") from black cardstock, then cut them apart and adhered to two of the flowers.

Stamped the "Thank You" (Quietfire Design) with the black.

Click on either image to enlarge. Enjoy

And it fits for these challenges:
Stamp & Create  monthly June Thank You
Crazy for Challenges  #240  stencil it
Crafty Creations Challenge  #264 Tic Tac Toe: Flowers, Emboss, Die Cut; 2 layers, ribbon, charm; circle, for a guy, digi.

Wow, this style of quilling is absolutely gorgeous. I love the distinct look of this and it is so intricate. BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for entering in over at Opus Gluei, now you make me want to explore quilling. I saw a peacock done that way that was gorgeous and now these flowers.

Love how you mixed the colors on your quilled flowers and affected the positive/negative look with your use of the trellis die. The leaves, the long narrow shape, the sentiment placed just so -- all beautiful!
