MC June/14 - Woven Feathers - You Are Amazing

Got a bunch of feathers yesterday at an Inventory Reduction Sale - not that I don't have enough feathers already... but they were just there - BIG GRIN. So came home and had to use them. Then one  of the challenges called for weaving and my favorite way of doing that is going in to my thin/sliver type of scrap drawer. And the rest just evolved.

I used cream toned cardstock and sponged it all over with Distress
"Mustard Seed" going lighter in the center area. Then sponged various browns ("Brushed Corduroy", "Walnut Stain" & "Vintage Photo") around the edges. Misted with water and also sprinkled droplets of water, dried.

Adhered my woven slivers of scrap decorated papers to the left edge onto the sponged background. Then started adhering the feathers here and there.

Adhered a ribbon/bow around the bottom edge (another sale item) and then adhered a button on the bow. Adhered the background to the side folded wheat textured card (5"w x 7"h). Pierced holes for the photo anchors.

Stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design) onto another piece of cream toned cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Sponged the browns and yellow around the edges. Trimmed down and adhered to the wheat cardstock, then on to the card front. Final touch added white half pearls.
