MC July/14 - Easel Beaded Circle - In Creating HB

The Card Maker Blog challenge is to use the colors Purple, White & Black only... Then one of my DT friends, Holly, reminded me of using a stamp in a different way - the Quietfire Design (Gingko leaf) used as  petals... and that's how this card evolved.

I stamped the leaf, scanned it and created a silhouette image to cut with my electronic cutter _ I'm lazy and wasn't in the mood to fussy cut a dozen petals BIG GRIN. Once cut, I inked the stamp using Distress "Seedless Preserves" and stamped each petal. Misted the backs with water and used my faux Blossom Tool to shape each petal, then adhered them to a punched out circle. When assembled, I added a glob of glue to the center and sprinkled Gitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Black".

To create the easel, I die cut the largest Beaded Circle (Spellbinders), scanned it and then enlarged, added a circle for the floor section and welded the two forms together, then cut with my electronic cutter to make a 5" x 5" card when closed. Cut another beaded circle the same size as the front.

Sponged the Preserves heavily all over the loose beaded circle, then ran through my embossing machine using Cuttlebug "Kassie's Brocade" embossing folder. Hit the high points with Distress acrylic dauber "Picket Fence". Set aside to dry, then stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Used some Sookwang tape to adhered the black Sari ribbon, then used a glue gun to adhere the tails and the blossom. Adhered this assembly to the front of the easel.

On the Spellbinders beaded oval, I sponged heavily again with the Preserves through the die. Stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design) using the black and clear embossed. adhered the beaded circle to the floor of the card, then adhered the black beaded flourish to act as my stopper.

As a final touch, cut out black circles, adhered them to the front and then adhered white half pearls.
