MC Sept/14 - Flourish Frame - Fill Your Paper HB
I've been meaning to make a frame using flourishes and finally got around to it... I'm using Dee's Distinctively Flourish sets 1, 2 &3. I die cut them from black cardstock, adhered a bunch to a white rectangle, scanned it, then cut with my electronic cutter (I now have a permenant frame I can use all the time without having to assemble it each time...). Applied Versamark all over the eCut frame and embossed with Marcasite embossing powder, then assembled and glued them to a white rectangle which was stamped with the quote using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed, edges sponged with a dirty yellow sponge.
I side folded my mustard colored cardstock (5"w x 7"h). Layered with some red textured cardstock, then some black. Adhered the red/gold ribbon, then adhered my flourish frame piece. Tied a bow and adhered that with hot glue.
As a final touch adhered white pearls adding some Golden's Extra Heavy Gel medium to make sure they stay stuck...
On the inside, stamped the sentiments with the black and clear embossed. The birthday one on white cardstock, then layered it onto some of the red, then on to the inside of the card.
Stamped the flowers (Rubbernecker "Red Tulips") using Distress acrylic Daubers ("Barn Door" & Black Soot for the flower, "Mowed Lawn" for the stems & "Antique Linen" for the baby's breath). The stamping turned out better than I expected on this mustard color...
I'm using quote and sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design. "Fill Your Paper", "Always Be My Friend" set, "Happy Birthday Plain and Simple" set. "Friends" set.
