MC Sept/14 - Jingle Bells - My Idea of a Perfect Christmas

I picked up this embossing folder by Sheena Douglas and love it as a background. So of course had to make an Xmas card with it. ROFL.

I side folded my white card (5"w x 7"h).

Inked up the embossing folder with a Distress mini pad (nice and juicy) "Mowed Lawn", then colored the berries with a Distress Marker "Barn Door", misted with water and inserted my white cardstock in to the un-inked side, then closed to folder and ran through my machine (my newest gadget a Cheery Lynn Crossover machine - love it...). Trimmed down and layered it on to a dark green textured cardstock. Trimmed that down using my layering ruler at 1/8" and adhered them to the card front. Added a bit of Quickie Glue to the berries and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter Regal Red".

Placed a piece of aluminum tape onto a piece of cardstock and die cut using Memory Box "Jingle Bells" a couple times. Adhered to card with white glue.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "My Idea...") using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Die cut with Spellbinders circle set and sponged edges with Distress "Barn Door". Adhered to card. Die cut the ornament attachment using Sizzix "Carved Ornament" die set and a scrap of the aluminum cardstock. Distressed the hanger and colored with a black Lumocolor marker and wiped off the excess. Adhered to ornament on card.

Punched out some pine branches (McGill punch) from some green decorated cardstock, then hit the punched elements with Distress "Pine Needles". Adhered to ornament. Adhered some narrow red ribbon and added a bow.

Well, of course, I love the embossing folder because I'm a little nuts in that regard, but I love the jingle bells die, too. I'm awaiting an order at this time -- got some Christmas dies -- and didn't see this one when I was shopping. Cute! Love the ornament. I broke my branch punch the other day. One less thing taking up space in my stamp room, but it was something I used frequently, darn it!

Lovely card Yogi, thanks for joining in at CRAFT Challenge. Just checking, was it your intention to take part in this week's challenge, the DT call or both? We would love you to apply for our DT post as well, but wanted to make sure you did not use the wrong Inlinkz by accident.

Jo and the CRAFT Team.
