MC Nov/14 - Pine Bough - Tidings of Comfort & Joy

...and another challenge called for using black cardstock. was rummaging in my scrap drawer and came up with a Zyron piece of thick black paper I use for photographing stuff, so cut off a piece and ran it through my embossing machine with Sizzix Tim's "Pine Branch" embossing folder. Hit the high points with Versamark and embossed with Queens Gold embossing powder.

Side folded my white card (5.5"w x 4.25"h) and covered it edge to edge with gold diamond patterned paper (from my Paper Roots stash). Trimmed downt eh black piece and adhered to front.

Adhered the gold gauze ribbon to the left edge with Sookwang tape, turning the ribbon in to fake a bow. Adhered a crossover piece and then a huge square chartreuse rhinestone.

Stamped the main word in the quote (Quietfire Design) using the Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.

On the inside, stamped the rest of the quote with the black and clear embossed. Created a rectangular mask and stamped the pin bough (Old Island Rubber) inking the stamp with Distress mini pads "Mowed Lawn" and the pinecones with "Brushed Corduroy", misting with water and stamping. Repeating the process to create a large branch.

oooo . . . love the silver embossing on black; so elegant! And such a great technique, I would never have guess that it started with an embossing folder. Thanks for playing with CSAYL (sorry I am so lately with commenting!).
