MC Dec/14 - Gold Leaf Thanks

I did this card on Monday and haven't had a chance to upload it. Sigh!! My quilling group celebrated my 65th BD on Wednesday (which is really only on the 21st...but who says I can't celebrate early). I'm celebrating again at work on Wednesday coming and then again on Sunday. Yes!!!

Anyway I was in a mood to do a bit of gold leafing... it's been a while since I've done any and I sure could use a bit of practice. i tried this time using the Sticky embossing powder as the adhesive. Was OK but nothing to write home to mother about...

Side folded my white card (4.25"w x 5.5"h). Stamped the leaf borders with Versamark and embossed the top section with Rangers Sticky embossing powder and the bottom one with Stampendous "Stamp n Bond"). Although the Stampendous one let the leaf stick more, it was also more pebbly. So really neither was to my liking.

Stamped the "Thanks Fill 'r Up" with Versafine Toffee and embossed with Queen's Gold embossing powder. Used a Quickie glue pen on the "T" tails and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Gold". Cut a piece of gold marbled paper for the body of the "T. Shadow outlined the letters with a taupe colored pencil.

Used my hard rubber mallet to selectively emboss the corners using a Cuttlebug embossing folder (Heritage set). Sponged some Distress "Weathered Wood" around the edges.

I'm using Quietfire Design sentiment stamp

And it fits for these challenges:
Inspiration Avenue  words that speak to you
Squigglefly  #4914  emboss or die cut
Facebook Card Making Challenge  silver & gold as main colors
TTCRD  #9 - 15 anything goes
Penny's Challenges  #207 anything but Xmas
4 Crafty Chicks  #224 one layer card
