MC Dec/14 - Quill Bells - Be Naughty & Snowmen Fall From Heaven cards

At our last quilling session one of our members was showing the group how to make bells. Even though I've done them before... I got in the act too, and wouldn't you know it, just as I needed to use them, they are lost on my desk somewhere. Sigh... so made a few more, this time I colored one side of my quill strip with a silver Krylon leafing pen. Dried, then did a very tight coil and shaped my bell, gluing the inside to keep the shape, then pressing down on the round shape to make it an oval shape. Added the little clappers. So cute...

I side folded my white card (5."w x 4.25"h). Used a Spellbinders die and my tan mat to dry emboss the frame design on the front. Hit the high points with Distress "Iced Spruce" direct to paper. I rarely use this pad, but really like it for this winter card.

Die cut some pine sprigs (Cheery Lynn) and while still in the larger piece of cardstock, hit it direct to paper with Distress "Forest Moss" then with a sponge and "Pine Needles". Removed from cardstock and adhered to card front. Adhered my quilled elements the pine sprig (that has glitter applied to the needles) and bells.

Tied a double loop bow from red ribbon and tied white wire thread around the center which I then wrapped around a bamboo skewer to create curled tendrils.

To see a pictorial tutorial on how to make this bow, click HERE

PS I had won a bunch of ribbon from a recent challenge on "Little Scrap Pieces", so have been using them. Is a really great selection...

Inked the quote stamp ("Be Naughty, save Santa") with Distress mini pads "Barn Door" and then here and there with "Black Soot", stamped and clear embossed.

On the inside stamped the Celtic Tree ("Celtic Christmas" 4pce set) one of the newest stamp sets from Quietfire Design using Versafine Toffee and embossing with Queen's Gold, then stamped the Celtic snowflakes using "Stormy Sky" and clear embossing. Stamped the quote with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Side folded my white card (5"w x 7"h). Adhered a marbled mulberry paper edge to edge.

Embossed a piece of white cards (Sheena Douglas "Snowflakes"). Since I don't usually clean my folders, this one still had some blue ink on it which got transferred to my cardstock... Used the side of a Distress pad "Stormy Sky" on the edges of the cardstock. Adhered to card front.

Had a leftover glittered snowflake  from a previous project that I had eCut. Adhered all my elements (quilled bells and glittered pine boughs, 2 loop fork bow - see instructions HERE)

Stamped the quote "Snowmen Fall From Heaven..." on white cardstock and cut close to stamping, inked edges with the blue pad, then layered to a blue scrapbook paper from my stash...  then on to card front.

On the inside stamped (Inkadinkado "Holiday Silhouettes" set) the snowman with Versafine Black Onxy and the snowflakes with the blue Distress pad. Stamped the sentiment "Let it Snow" small size (Quietfire Design) with the black. Sponged some blue "Tumbled Glass" around the edges.
