MC June/15 - Magnolias - Deepest Sympathy
I love magnolias... so found some images I could use as inspiration, altered them in my photo editing program and then cut with my electronic cutter.
I acquired the scrapbook papers at my Guild's meeting, one pack I won and one pack was being given away... surprisingly enough, I really liked the designs inside the patterned cardstock and can see myself using it. (DCWV - Elegant wedding & black solid core textured cardstock) plus I traded with another Guild friend for some of his white pack...
After cutting the outline element, which I colored with a black marker, I cut the under layer and dry brush painted it with QOR watercolors, then with my finger applied a layer of Viva "Holo Iridescent" glitter liner. Gave it a nice glittery look.
I die cut the branch (Sizzix Tim's Bigz "Branch Tree" die), colored direct to paper with Distress "Gathered Twigs" then all over with "Black Soot".
Side folded my white card (5"x 7"), layered a piece of the black textured cardstock and then the grey toned floral paper. Adhered my tree branch and then flowers. Stamped the sentiment "With Deepest Sympathy" using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.
On the inside: Stamped the "Remembering You" - Garden Bench 4pce set" (Quietfire Design) with the black onyx. Stamped the flower (Flourishes "Magnolias" set") with the black and colored with Prisma colored pencils. Repeatedly stamped the leaf border using Distress "Forest Moss".
And fits for these challenges:
