MC Aug/15 - How Beautiful Leaves Grow Old - Thankful

It's starting to feel like fall, but thankfully the leaves are still green... I got this leaf border type stamp (Creative Expressions "Skeleton Leaves Striplet") recently and have been itching to use it.

I tried it a few different ways using Brusho's and Terraskin and various colors of embossing inks, but didn't like the results - so they are in the discard pile for some other use one day...

I ended up using my trusty Distress pads on my craft sheet, misting with water and smooshing my white embossed design through the wetness. Dried, then sponged some browns around the edges.

Side folded my cream toned card (4.25"w x 5.5"h). Used an EK Success border punch "English Ivy". Sponged some browns around the edges which transferred the design to the inside of the card. Adhered a piece of copper metallic paper to the edge and trimmed down. Sponged a bit of "Crushed Olive" on the front as well, then adhered my leaf design.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "How Beautifully Leaves Grow Old" 3pce set) using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed on yellow toned vellum. Hit the edges with a brown stamp pad and embossed with copper embossing powder. Adhered to card front using "Best Glue Ever" sparingly around the edge of the vellum.

As a final touch added some amber rhinestone flourishes.

On the inside: as mentioned above, the right side edge is a result of sponging the front border.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "Give Thanks" 2 pce set) "using Distress pads Olive & ""Vintage Photo" and clear embossing. The leaf sprig ("How Beautifully Leaves Grow Old" set) inking with Distress minis in "Mustard Seed" all over, then here and there with "Forest Moss", "Dried Marigold" and the vintage photo.
