Pan Pastels Demo Samples _Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild

http://yogiemp.com/Calligraphy/Artwork/PanPastelsAug2015.htmlI'll be demoing working with Pan Pastels at our next Guild meeting on September 21st. Love Pan Pastels, but must admit I don't use them as often as I should. So when I was asked to do a demo using them I got enthused again...

I cut a jumbo Popsicle stick down to fit the square edged Sofft cover sponge to use as a broad edge tool. The Bamboo shoots uses this tool. Then I used dried out baby wipes to spread the pastels. And I love using my eraser (Tombow Mono Zero Elastomer Eraser) to remove color from my substrate then shadowing the letters with pencils or ink. Also used a flat edge paint brush dipped in some water - damp brush - and picked up color - the word "dreams"

You're so good with this, Yogi. I've been intrigued by the Pan Pastels and have wondered if I should make a small purchase to try them out. These pieces are beautiful.
