MC Nov/15 - Quill Candle - Light Tomorrow - ECD Best Wishes

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2015/MCNov15_QuillCandle_LightTomorrow_ECDBestWishes.htmlOne of my quilling friends was making a quilled candle with flowers at one of our sessions... So of course had to make one too. Lucky I have so many friends that spark my creative juices... ROFL

I used the gold edge from encyclopedia books for the candle, that I got from another quilling friend a while back. Made some quilled red flowers, added glitter, die cut doo-dads and ribbon, and used a very heavy textured cardstock (Lava paper) for the background. Love the way it turned out.

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2015/MCNov15_QuillCandle_LightTomorrow_ECDBestWishes.htmlI'm using an Elizabeth Craft Designs die "Best Wishes" on the inside (also available on Quietfire Design HERE). As well as a stamp by Bianca Petroschi.

And the quote ("Light Tomorrow...") on the front and sentiment ("Tiny Christmas Wishes" 3pce set) on the inside are rubber stamps by Quietfire Design. That little tiny Christmas sentiment is so cute...

I love how you combine quilling and cards. just beautiful. I use to do a small amount of quilling, made a santa once and a few small objects. your projects are so cool. I don't comment on them often but I always appreciate seeing your talent. :)

This must have taken you so long to create, so much detail and work put into this. Its absolutely incredible and I'm always in awe of quilling designs. Using the gold edge paper for the candle was such a genius idea and the shimmer on the flowers is stunning. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us at CAS-ual Fridays!!!

Hi Yogi, me again. I was going to email this to you separately but couldn't find a contact email address. There are two different CAS-ual Friday Challenges. The one you linked your card too is the 'Clean and Simple' challenge. Its for cards that are very simple in design with the minimum of embellishments and layers etc. The other one is 'Casual Chic - The Utterly Adorable Layers' challenge. With this challenge you can go crazy with dimension, layering, embellishments etc. I wasn't sure if you knew about it, as this card would have been better suited to that one. I just wanted to let you know so that if you make another masterpiece like this one for our next challenge (as the theme is the same for both), you can link it to the right one and definitely be in the running for a prize. The link for Casual Chic is http://cas-ualchic.blogspot.co.nz/ I hope this all makes sense, please email me shona.chambers@orcon.net.nz if not. I don't want you to miss out on any prizes with your creations!!! Hugs, Shona.
