MC Dec/15 - Quill - ECD Happy Birthday - Just For You

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2015/MCDec15_Quill_ECDHappyBirthday_JustForYou.html
Thought I was using one of the newest Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and realized as I was writing my blurb it was the earlier released die. Sheesh. Back to the drawing board...

But I am really happy with the results. I'm using a bunch of scraps and stuff from my bins. Loving the curvy leaf background which was the negative of the leaves done on Color Burst decorated watercolor paper and looked so pretty when I was finished with it I didn't have the heart to throw it away. Also using a bunch of quilled elements from previous sessions. And I had opened one of my ribbon drawers and there was that little piece of webbed ribbon ...

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2015/MCDec15_Quill_ECDHappyBirthday_JustForYou.htmlAnd the "Happy Birthday" is a top and bottom off the edge die cutting technique explained on my website. Yes you could die cut the word and just glue the edges to a couple borders... There is always more than one way to do things...

Anyway, just click on any card image to see all the details and descriptions and lots more views.

I'm using Elizabeth Craft Designs dies "Happy Birthday"; "Curvy Leaves"; "Leafy Branch"; "Hardware 1 - Hinges";

And on the inside I'm using sentiments from Quietfire Design ("Just For You" 4pce set)

And it fits for these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge  Die Crazy
City Crafter  #292 Heat Embossing
Tuesday Throwdown  #274 anything goes
Penny's Challenges  #258 anything goes
The Paper Shelter  #231 Anything goes
Hiding in My Craft Room  #229 use your scraps
Fashionable Stamping  #106 make your own background

I may not know how to quill, but I going to try this idea out. Thanks Yogi for the inspiration!

You've created a terrific background here Yogi with your curvy cut out leaves; and it's adorned superbly with your exquisite quilling. I love the way that you've joined the two halves of the card together with printed leaves and Happy Birthday dies cuts, it looks really effective. Thank you for sharing with us at FSC, Sandra x

Ohhhh, the leafy background does look gorgeous. I wouldn't have realized it was the negative until you mentioned it. So many pretty parts you pulled together for this!
