MC Feb/16 - Carnations - Amour - Love You Forever
OK so I'm making another Love card... couldn't resist with Suzanne's newest eCut files released this week on Silhouette... "Amour" & "Flourished Heart Motif"
And since we're in French mode, might as well add the Eiffel tower. BIG GRIN... and the background are all beautiful French words...
Love the carnations I made using rice paper. So much better than tissue paper. Has some strength to it but is still as soft and moldable as tissue.
So I cut a white piece of cardstock and stamped the background (Heidi Swapp) using Distress "Pumice Stone". Layered it onto a red textured side folded card.
eCut the "Amour" and "Flourished Heart Motif" from white cardstock, also cut a shadow layer for the text and a blackout layer for the heart. Applied Versafine "Smokey Grey" to the text and embossed with silver embossing powder. Applied Versafine "Satin Red" to the shadow layer and embossed with "Chinese Red" embossing powder. Applied the grey and silver embossing to the heart flourish. Inked the wing ends with the red and embossed with the Chinese red. Applied quickie glue to the heart area and sprinkled with Stickles "Star Dust" glitter. Adhered the 2 layers together.
Die cut the "Eiffel Tower (Spellbinders") from white cardstock, inked with the grey and embossed with Emerald Creek Hot Stuff "Oil Rubbed Bronze" embossing powder.
The carnations were die cut (Sizzix Tim's Movers & Shapers "Mini Tattered Floral" set) from white rice paper (7 flowers for each carnation...). Placed on my craft mat in the 7 pce stack and sprayed, dabbed with a mix of Distress stain Spray "Candied Apple" diluted with water and Perfect Pearls "Perfect Pearls" added to the mix. Then sprayed with some water as well. When dry, touched the edges with a Distress marker "Worn Lipstick". Tooled the petals with a large balled stylus on some foam. Folded one petal in half, in half again and in half a 3rd time. Pinched the bottom a bit to flare the folds. Repeated with 3 more flowers, then adhered these 4 together at the bottom only. Adhered the 3 other flowers in the centers, shifting the petals so they sit between the previous layers petals., then put a good drop of glue in the center and adhered the center cluster. Set aside to dry.
Adhered all my elements and added a silver Sari bow.
Sponged around the edges with a dirty red sponge.
Stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design "Calligraphic Love Bits..." 6pcs) using the red all over and then touching here and there with Black Onyx, and clear embossing.
