We have no theme for our next Art of the Fold meeting for Oct... so decided to make this hexagon structure I saw by Kit Davey on Facebook.
I made a prototype (the small white one below - 1.5"w x 1.5"h) just to make sure I could figure out what the end would look like...
Size closed: 4"w x 4.5"h
I used Canson Colorline (pink) which I don't like because it tears so easily... but I really want to use it all up...
Cut my paper 4.5" h x 21" (approx). Scored and folded every 2".
The under strip that the structure is glued to is 21" total length (10.75"is the narrower section for the wrap around.)
I used one of my geli prints. Found a typeface I liked and printed the quote text on copy paper in the size I wanted, cut them out, colored them black and glue to my structure.
quote: hexagons where mathematical artistry meets quirky charm.
Punched out hexagons from the geli print paper and wrote the letters for the title.
