CBH Challenge Jan 8

Only 2 days a week to create just ain't enough... Well at least I finished my Created By Hand Challenge for this week. The theme was Frames. We also have a Valentines mingle started so I thought I'd combine a couple projects and save some time.

Something else I've been playing with:

I've also been making some ATC's using the negative portions of my Sizzlets alphabet stamps to make a background, using double sided tape and then sprinkling glitter in the open areas of the letters. I really like the results. I had punched letters previously from some gold paper and some painted copper paper, which are also the theme colors for our Online ATC swap for Dec and Jan.

AND

Since I didn't have any Jones Tones Adhesive glue to create raised letters for guilding, and I've been looking all over in Calgary... I decided to try something with stuff I have. I remember a while back I was using Golden's Tar Gel to create faux webbing spray. It worked. The webbing also dried with raised lines and was pliable, so I thought I'd try that instead of the glue. I mixed a small batch of Tar Gel with their liquid Gold and put it into a small container with a needle tip. I started writing with it and it worked just like 3D fabric paint. Amazing!! When the Tar gel was tacky I lay my gold leaf on it and brushed off the excess with a small soft brush, and I can't believe the shine. I don't know if it's my imagination or what, but it sure looks like it has a nicer shine than when I use regular guilding adhesive. Anyway this stuff will be uploaded later in the week I hope.
I'm going to relax and read the rest of a very good book.

Very nice card Yogi and a great way to save time by combining 2 themes into one project.

Yogi, this is a fabulous card!!! I also like accomplishing 2 things with one project :-)) I've been trying to decide if I should join the mingle, your cards is pushing me that way (not that I can be sure I'd get it or anything).
