Flourishes Man Card

Flourishes has a challenge this week of "Manly" cards. I wasn't in the mood to do one, but then I saw a couple of their rubber stamps sets, they're releasing at the end of the week - gorgeous. With a chance to win the 4 sets, I knew I had to give in and make a card. Then I came across this racing car image and I knew what I was going to do...

I cut out a stencil with my Cricut, sponged some Distress black soot for the tires, and clear embossed it, then sponged Silver Brilliance and embossed with silver detail, then finally sponged a bit of Red Brick on the car itself. Cut around everything - and had my racing car.

Next, I off set folded the yellow card. The red stripes were added from some left over cardstock. I'm not really into car racing, so looked up what the flags meant and a Yellow flag (sometimes with red vertical stripes) means some type of hazard (ok I'm using it as sickness).

I adhered the race car, having some stick off beyond the front flap. Added the white flag which means the last lap (and on my card means recovery is well on the way)

I ran a piece of white cardstock through the Cuttlebug with the checkerboard folder, then brayered black on the high points and clear embossed. This flag means the end of the race (or in my card, the person has recovered...)

Finally I rubber stamped the words "Get well soon" with Versafine Black Onyx.

Love the way this card turned out.

This image and your sentiment really go together nicely to make a very clever masculine get well card. Love your treatment for the background.
