MC July/12 - Scenic Ovals - Greetings 1 & 2

Scenic Oval - Greetings #1
Scenic Oval - Greetings #2
I love the clean and simple look to these cards and they were super quick to make. I die cut a Spellbinders oval from a piece of plastic to use as a mask/stencil. I also cut a wavy piece of cardstock to mask/protect my hills.

You can see the original card I CASE'd from someone called Roxie (Rox71) on Splitcoast Stampers

Stamped the sentiment   Quietfire Design  with Versafine Black Onyx and either clear embossed or embossed with Queen's Gold. Then taped the stencil in the appropriate area, placed the hilly mask and sponged Distress colors for the skies. Both had Broken China and Wild Honey and the one with the gold lettering also had some Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar added.

Stamped the various trees (Impression Obsession "Winter Trees",Old Island "Pine Trees" & "Against the Wind") with the black and using the hilly mask for some. Removed the oval stencil and hilly mask and stamped the larger trees (Old Island "Against the Wind", Stampscapes "Nature Sht 4") also with the black. With a black Micron pen added the birds in the sky.

Put some dry embossed snowflakes (Cuttlebug "Distressed Snow" folder) selectively using my hard rubber mallet on the black lettered background.

Click on either card to see a larger view. Enjoy

And it fits for a couple challenges:
