MC Oct/12 - Masking - What's not To Like

Not sure why I'm doing as many Halloween cards this year since I don't send any out and don't do anything Halloween related... but I do love the imagery and of course the words/sentiments by Quietfire Design.

So this card started with a single layer challenge with a fall theme, then morphed into the Halloween stuff....

I side folded a 5" x 6.5" white card, masked off the border with masking tape. Stamped all my elements on tracing paper and cut them out, tacked them to the card front. Used a Dreamweaver spider web stencil and inked the design with a Perfect Medium pad, removed the stencil and clear embossed it, then stamped the 12 days of Halloween (Quietfire Design) using Versafine Black Onyx all over the front. Sponged Distress "Seedless Preserves" all over, then went over with "Chipped Sapphire", misted with water and dried. Removed some of the masks - the sentiment area and some of the leaves (Flourishes set #078), stamping with the black and clear embossing the sentiments, then removed the rest of the masks and continued stamping. Colored some with Tombows, then continued coloring with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils (which I prefer) and a water brush. Stamped the crow/raven (Quietfire Design) with the black. Outlined the sentiment boxes with a black Zig Writer. Inked up the spider (Inkadinkado) with a Distress black pen.

I really like the look I got... You can click on either image for a larger view. Enjoy

Love the colours on the background of this card, I couldn't begin to know where to start making something so fabulous. I too don't send halloween cards or anything but it is fun to use images that you would not otherwise play with.

Many thanks for joining in with our Boo! challenge over at OSAAT & hope to see you back again soon.
