MC Nov/12 - Quill - Dragonfly

I was in an abstract kind of mood and playing with some quilled elements I had made at my last quilling session. A friend had given me some of her red edged white quill strips to play with and I had used my quilling comb for the petals. Thought I was going to make an abstract flower, but then I saw this dragonfly forming on my desk... This is the result BIG GRIN.

I'm also using one of my newest embossing folders from Couture Creations (Romatique series). Love these newest folders they came out with. Just gorgeous...

And I'm using a Quietfire Design word stamp "Dragonfly"

I sponged Distress Pumice Stone around all the edges, then hit the edges with Gathered Twigs, Crushed Olive and a touch of Aged Mahogany. Love that color combo. Layered it onto a bright red cardstock, then onto my white 5"w x 7"h card.

The rose (dragonfly head...) die cut (Marianne Designs) from white cardstock, colored with Distress reds, stamped with a misc stamp before die cutting.

And it fits for these challenge:
Pan Pstel UK  #44 Make an embellishment
Corrosive Challenges  #162 Flutterby - something with wings
