Bound & Lettered Vol 10 #2

First off HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. May this be the most creative year ever and may you and your loved ones stay safe, happy and healthy.

I am so excited. Two of my calligraphy pieces landed in the most recent issue of Bound & Lettered Volume 10 Issue 2 by John Neal Books in an article they did about the Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild. One is on the inside back cover and one is the full page of the back cover.

Click on either calligraphed image to see details and descriptions.

So thought I'd make a thanks card... it's one of my trade mark "thanks" - love doing this funky lettering.

Side folded white card (5.5"w x 4.25"h). Lettering outlined with a black Zig Writer, lots of water put in to the letter and Twinkling H2ยบ's dropped in, dried, then shadowed the letter using a dark brown Prisma colored pencil and blending with a Lyra Splendor Blender. Used my hard rubber mallet to emboss the outside edges with Tim's "Checkerboard" embossing folder. Used a black Bic marker to put dots along the tops of letters.

The envelope is not conducive to my Pilot Parallel Pen - it bleeds so had to do the lettering with a Zig Calligraphy pen... Put white dots with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen in the squares and outlined two sides with a red Zig Writer to match those gorgeous stamps.
