MC Feb/13 - Tattered Flower - Gratitude

Well I've been thinking about doing Tim's challenge - re his Tattered Flower... And then I got this sketch challenge in my email from Paper Craft Planet, and all of a sudden I wanted to create something.

I had some cut up book pages (a vintage Reader's Digest I got from a friend that I had started to use for some quilling), so just put the bunch on top of the die and ran it through my machine. I then pulled out my spray bottles and had one that was mixed in a mini mister (Barn Door reinker, Perfect Pearls Gold & H2º), so sprayed the large solid type flowers with that. Then sprayed the daisy type flower with Dylussions "Lemon Zest" then put a touch of the mini mister mix, then sprayed everything with Perfect Pearls Mists Sunflower Sparkle and dried it with a heat tool. I also had a scrap of black fringing from my quilling stuff, so coiled that, inserted a large hot pink brad, and then through all the flower layers. When assembled I put a glob of Glossy Accents on the brad head and sprinkled with Michael's Recollections glitter in a nice fuchsia color.

Side folded a 5.5"w x 4.25" white card. Stamped part of a quote (Quietfire Design "Gratitude is the heart's memory") with Versafine Black Onyx on the front and the rest of the quote on the inside and clear embossed both. Applied a piece of Sookwang tape across the whole card trimmed down to 1" high and pointed on the ends. Sprinkled the stamped lettering part with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Clear" then sprinkled the same fuchsia glitter as above on the rest leaving the area where the flower is un-glittered.

I thought the rest of the quote on the inside needed something else, so colored a floral heart stamp (Flourishes "Hearts & Flowers") using my Gelatos (in pink & purples), misting with water, allowing the water to activate the gelatos and then stamped.
