MC Apr/13 - Quill_GetWellSoon

One of my cousins wives is going through a 3rd bout of chemo therapy. I really feel for her. Can't imagine what she's going through. Every couple of years it seems to come back hitting a different area of the body. So I made her this card hopefully to cheer her up a bit.

side view
It's a side folded 4.25"w x 5.5"h white card. Layered with my new Ruche paper in an off white. The mason jar (Memory Box) is die cut from a photo add newsprint image (City Palate Mar/Apr 13), I cut about a third of the jar down so it would be more squat than tall, then I cut slits in it and wove some white quilling strips through it. Adhered to card. Die cut the lid from some copper metal tape which I adhered to a piece of cardstock prior cutting.

The flowers are from a lilac card I did last year and had leftovers... finally using them. I used my finger to spread some "Crystal Ice" Stickles on the petals, then put a dot of Platinum Pearl into each center (you can see the dots in the side view image). I wanted my White Pearl but can't find it... The leaves are a new way for me to make leaves, assembling a bunch of quilled coils into a leaf shape. A bit more work involved, but I like the results, so will continue making these. I also colored one side of the quill strip to give a shadow like look depending on which direction you look at the card. Add the rhinestone flourishes.

Stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design) onto some white cardstock using Versafine Imperial Purple. Trimmed it down and added the points. Adhered it to a green gauze ribbon mimicking the points. Added a pink toned pearl brad, then adhered to card.
