MC July/13 - CAS Stork - Welcome Little One

A baby card... You all know that is something I just don't do... And I don't even have anyone now or in the near future needing one. Sheesh. But one of the challenges called for using a stamp I haven't used before and the stork is one of those never inked yet. BIG GRIN. What better than a baby sentiment (it's one of the newest from Quietfire Design) to go with it. I'm cringing here.

Anyway, I side folded a white card to 4.25"w x 5.5"h.
Inked my stork stamp (Local King Rubber "Cherish") with Versafine "Satin Red", then hit it here and there with "Majestic Blue", and hit the beak and legs with Black Onyx, then stamped onto my card.

Used the red and blue for the baby bundle which I stamped so the bird looks like it's delivering it.

While my stamps were dirty, stamped onto tracing paper, hand cut to create masks. Adhered to card with removable tape and stamped the sentiment oval (Quietfire Design "Welcome Little One" set) and clear embossed.

Used a sponge and Distress "Chipped Sapphire" to create a light weave type pattern on the background, almost dry sponging it onto the card.

Used a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page corner punch also called "Cherish" and punched the corners shy of the actual punch area so my card dimensions remained the same.

As a final touch added Ritz micro fine glitter in "Stardust" for the stars and "Warm Highlights" for the moon.

Until I read your description I thought the stork, baby bundle, and script were all one stamp. Nice job and I love the outcome. I would probably buy this as all one stamp because I do love making baby cards and always know someone who needs them. You did beautiful work combining the images!
