MC July/13 - Dreamweaver Snails Pace - Just For You

I absolutely love the way this turned out. I just love the vibrancy of it and that snail is too precious...

I side folded a white card, 5"w x 7". Cut a circle using my EK Success circle scissor from white cardstock and sponged Distress "Mustard Seed" and "Worn Lipstick" very heavily to create my sun.

Placed my bullrushes stencil (Dreamweaver LL517) masking all the edges, and sponged "Forest Moss" heavily on the leaves, and "Vintage Photo" on the bullrush head. Removed the stencil and placed the snail stencil (Dreamweaver LM290) down, also masking all the edges. Sponged some "Walnut Stain" in the body area of the snail (removed stencil) and embossed with Distress "Antique Linen" embossing powder. Placed stencil back and sponged the brown on the shell area, (removed stencil) and embossed with Distress "Walnut Stain" embossing powder. Placed stencil back and sponged the brown on the lettering, (removed stencil) and embossed with "Queen's Gold" embossing powder.

Cut up the small words (Quietfire Design "10 tiny sentiment" set), attached them to my acrylic block in the position I wanted and stamped using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. I really wanted to use the Just Because" sentiment as well, but couldn't separate it from it's flourish... sigh!!

Added some of my own monoline calligraphy... "it's so hot here, we're going at a snail's pace"

As a final touch added some white glue to the bullrush heads and sprinkled beige flocking.

I find this card so warm and personal. I would love to send this card to some friends who've moved out of the area when they've crossed my mind. I love a "just because" note.
