I like the flower portion of the plant and the leaves, but I goofed when it came to gluing down the stems of the leaves. I clustered the stems too closely together which I don't like - makes them appear like one thick stem with leaves coming off the single stem, but can't do anything about it... It should have been clustered lower down and then have each stem just branch out individually.
---UPDATE July 27th: so I made a 2nd card which I like much better BIG GRIN.
I used a Cuttlebug "Honeycomb" 5 x 7 embossing folder on the front of my side folded white 5"w x 7"h card, then sponged Distress "Mustard Seed" and "Ripe Persimmon" around the edges.
Adhered my plant elements. Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed on white cardstock. Layered that on a metallic dark green cardstock then onto card front with 3D foam tape.
Added one more leaf so it sits on top of the quote. As a final touch, die cut a bee (Elizabeth Craft Designs) and colored the layers before assembling it.
And it fits for these challenges:
Old Back Porch #82 card a week
Crazy Challenge #150 summertime
Fashionable Stamping #51 flora & fauna
One Stitch at a Time #173 favorite technique (usually either background embossing/sponging &/or quilling)
Pan Pastel UK #29 summertime
